I make each flower by hand, one petal at a time, using a special air-dry clay that was formulated in Japan specifically for sculpting realistic flowers.
Benefits over real flowers:
- Will not wilt or fade.
- Sturdier than real flowers.
- Fragrance free; will not trigger migraines, asthma, etc.
- A lasting keepsake, gift, or heirloom.
- Never out of season, always available in the colors you need!

I am Leigh Ann Gagnon, an artist/illustrator who typically works in watercolor and printmaking, and I started making flowers by lucky chance. My husband and I were married in 2012; I stumbled across flowers made with this clay while coming up with wedding ideas and decided to try making them myself. After I realized how much I enjoyed it, I made all the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and other flowers for our wedding.
My family owns an amazing greenhouse, where I’ve worked for more than half my life. I’ve always been around plants. I think it helps that I’m so familiar with many of the flowers I’m crafting, and when I’m trying new flowers I do as much visual and hands-on research as I can to make them accurate. Detail is really important to me, and is a huge part of the illustrations I do as well!
I'm currently based in Columbia, Maryland.
